narrative

Recently, while laying tile in my bathroom one of the heavy ceramic tiles slipped and smashed my pinkie finger. AARRGG, man did that hurt. While I ran cold water over my swollen finger I began to think about all the mishaps Tim Taylor from Home Improvement endured and had to chuckle. I didn't feel so bad about smashing my finger.

Many people, especially men, can relate to Tim Taylor's character. Even as I am typing this blog a total stranger enquired about my character and commented about how much he enjoys the show Home Improvement.

I can certainly relate to a man who has an affinity for most powerful tools, cars, dishwashers, lawnmowers, etc. I also can relate to Tim's character because I sometimes start projects before making sure I have the knowledge needed to complete the project successfully and without injury. Even with the proper knowledge accidents happen; they just happen often to Tim Taylor.

Not only does Tim Taylor mess up many projects he attempts he also gets himself in trouble with his wife by being insensitive. The man behind the character is no stranger to making mistakes that carried with them severe consequences. He did some prison time for cocaine about thirty years ago but that didn't stop him from becoming the mega star he is today. Just because he made a mistake did not make him a failure; it just makes him human like the rest of us.
